Shapeshifters exist in a context. We work to increase recognition of integrative roles in policy, recruitment, and organisational design. Here is how you can help us shift the conversation and support our advocacy work.
For shapeshifters and individuals
- Refine this wiki. Test, challenge, review. Increase accuracy, relevance, clarity. You should be able to leave comments - contact us at hello @ shapeshifters.group for deeper involvement.
- Socialise this. Every act of repeating the framework normalises it.
- Platform this. Give us a seat, an interview. Or mention it in your networks.
- Highlight and name the work. Discern what makes it good or bad.
For HR practitioners and organisations
- Develop PDs and KPIs. Our bet: we can clarify what shapeshifters do. This will benefit organisations. Including by discerning what’s a good or bad shapeshifter.
- Guide the evolution. All change comes with resistance. Some people might resist the naming and recognition of shapeshifters, feeling that it’s taking the spotlight away from them. Which is precisely what we propose to do. Help us manage it.
- Identify key areas where shapeshifters will thrive. Leads: AI integration, transition to new forms of environmental accounting, work from home arrangements. Appoint a shapeshifter to work alongside the CTO, CFO and CPO for each of those projects.
For policy makers and industry bodies
- Integrate shapeshifters and shapeshifting to your thinking: whether it’s policy making, lobbying, thinking of a new program – how would a shapeshifter help it?
- Develop pathways and sources of support. Could there be an MBA stream? A peak body that ensures minimal certification? Funding for a community of practice?
- Think of stakeholders as a lens for complex emerging problems. Think of multi-stakeholder environments, think of interconnected problems, think of the role of shapeshifters as ‘first followers’ in innovation and start up environments. Help us by developing grants, funding, recognition, awards in a way that integrates shapeshifters.
